Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
I do believe that's it...I'm not 100% sure though either. I know it's supposed to have desert, plains, some forest, and any mixture of those...I'll check the library and update my post.pROvAK wrote:Yes, I'm pretty sure it is Orichalc, but i'm not 100% positive.

How big is it? Red Mountain big, Or bigger?
Also, is it posably to convert Oblivion models and textures to Morrowind?

Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
No, no! I meant mods for Oblivion. I would've given you the links but there are two very good cactus mods that I know of for Oblivion. You just ask for their permission.
Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
That's good than. That leaves us more options. I've spent a while all afternoon looking for plants and stuff and there were very little Morrowind resources.
How dense is the forest going to be? What type of forest is it? Jungle type?

Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
I imagine sub tropical as all green with a mixture of tropic plants with a few species from the north. Just my opinion.
Geography
Yeah, that's how I pictured it. We'll have to draw out some concepts and such to get a real hold on what it looks like.
Elsweyr Picture
Found a picture of what Elsweyr is really like.
It is about half and half of what I expected. I know it's not much but we can at least get a feel for Elsweyr from it. I will now go gather some more textures before someone else does.

Geography
Yeah, there will only be a few mountains in the forest areas. Not really any in the desert. We will need to find some "pom" trees models, and Lady E's fit the bill. I just can't make contact.
Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
At least one desert mountain would look really cool. I know a better city tileset for desert buildings. Lady E's looks like it's for a small village but the other looks like it could be a city.
Okinda
I know a guy joining the mod with absolutely perfect models. I can't wait till he joins, things will move a lot faster. Plus he is an exterior modder
Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
I don't mean align it but use it's size to compare with the size of Elsweyr. But yes, after you acquire the heightmap.
Re: Elsweyr ~ Geography
Hello, i have some informations from lore concerning the geography of Elsweyr. I'm listing all here for reference.
There is little information but it seems it's a relative flat land. There is no mountain of importance referred. In the South, the Halls of Colossus is supposed to overlook 'the Great Divide'. It is not mentionned what is 'the Great Divide'. It could be some sort of valley or canyon. Or it could be a mountain dividing the access to the peninsula.
There is the Xylo River. Since the Five Years War (war against Bosmers) the two side are in Eslweyr so the river itself should be near the East border. On the map, the part of the coast near Torval could be its estuary.
The northern part of the country consists of the kingdom of Anequina. The extreme north is dry wastes and grasslands. The surroundings of Rimmen (N-W) are hills and steppes. The rest is formed of badlands.
The southern part (from Corinthe) consists of the kingdom of Pellitine. This area is covered in jungle and rainforests, with sugarcanes groves. It's a region with two main river bassin.
You should also take a look to the geography of India (tropical South, central highlands and desertic North). It could be a good source of inspiration.
