Re: Elsweyr History
I was thinking that Elsweyr is a bit of a disorganized province, so a lot of it's history would be criminal, organizations and such. Of course, remember lore is everything around here, so it all has to piece together.
Re: Elsweyr History
I'm working to compile all events concerning Elsweyr and its characters in one document with dates and sources. I begin to have a coherent chronology.
But I haven't Oblivion nor Skyrim. I can have access to books via the UESP and the TIL but maybe there is still some lore in dialogues. If you find something interesting, don't hesitate to share it.

Re: Elsweyr History
This is great Le Grimacier. I like the chronological order and how it only includes lore up to the events in Morrowind.
This is exactly why you are head of lore!

@SGMonkey: I didn't know. Thank you!
I was surprised to find so much informations about Elsweyr. Khajiits were discrete but they were very involved in Tamriel history. Official chroniclers don't mention them explicitly but you can found them if you look carefully. Maybe they consider them as just talking animals.
I'm waiting for news about Elderscrolls Online. There will be a lot of lore about Elsweyr in the Second Era.

Re: Elsweyr History
I wouldnt read too much into the TESO lore. In that the nords, argonians and dunmer are supposedly best friends...

Re: Elsweyr History
Well the Elder Scrolls Online seems to be a complete 'lore corruptor.' I looked over at some of the (TESOnline) Skyrim gameplay, and it is once again changed dramatically. I think Bethesda might be on Skooma....
Re: Elsweyr History
I am disappoint. That seems to me just like when Bethesda handed off Fallout New Vegas, and completely ruined it.
Re: Elsweyr History
There isn't a lot of lore about Elsweyr and the other provinces who didn't appear in games. The graphic style is different but I'm sure we could find a lot of things interesting in the new lore.
That remembers me when Zelda Wind Waker was released. A lot of players was disappointed by the cartoonish style they saw in the few pics before its release. They said they'll never play the game because it was too different from what they knew.
It's the same here. We don't have a lot of information except a few pics from regions who appear in the other games just to show how they looks like. It's too early to have an opinion.
Alliances are weird? Why not if the story explains it realistically? In Morrowind Dwemers and Dunmers was allies. Whitout the story of Nerevar, it's hardly understandable why the slavers-daedrics-cultists and the underground-secluded-ingeneers (who has been fighting from the first day they saw the other) have made a common kingdom. Most alliances are created by the need.

Re: Elsweyr History
Seems legit Grim. And hey, maybe we can even look to Zenimax's Elsweyr for reference. Maybe.
