Jungle Temples
I've made some models for jungle temples. It's just some stuff with a basic texture, and meshs are not optimized. It's a tilseset so you can make different sorts of ruins with it. It's made to be like the Daedric ruins: some structures in exterior and a "dungeon" in interior. It's far from finished and interior is not yet done.
A simple temple:

Something more complexe:

Basic blocks can be used to make a paving way:

There will be flora to be added inside/outside the temple, like roots growing on walls, fern, etc...
The problem with a tileset is there will be a lot of differents objects in the cell. If the ruins is too big, I fear there will be probably a slowdown (I don't know how the number of references impacts fps). Perhaps I should make bigger but less varied buildings.
I just want your opinion before going too far.

Re: Jungle Temples
Larger buildings would be more useful to have a good major temple atmosphere but these are pretty damn good! You've got some skill, I'll say that! The textures actually look fine from these pics. Even though these aren't particularly large, they could be combined to create unique structures. Sort of like a whole building set. Whatever you're doing with these things currently looks fine.
P.S. If you have any noteworthy models that you'd like to put in the showcase section, we'd love to see them. From this little thread, it looks like you could easily get promoted with your skill.

I don't know. They look awesome but also like something that you'd find in Black Marsh. :/ I love it though.
Re: Jungle Temples
Did you just rip these straight out of UDK or did you use UDK as a reference.....

Re: Jungle Temples
@Exilian's Minion: For Black Marsh I think ruins will be more Inca/Mayan. But it's true it's the same type of environnement.
@SGMonkey: Yeah, I used UDK, but models are made from scratch. At first I have searched for Indian/Cambodgian ruins. My first models looked like those from UDK so I've improved them using UDK as reference.
Ok, I'll trying to make unique structures.

These look like something that would be buried in the sand, don't you think?

Re: Jungle Temples
I think we should have one set of ruins for the whole Elsweyr, like the daedrics ones in Morrowind. It'll give the feeling there was an unique civilisation.
What I've done is more a "copy-paste" of something that exists. I have to find something more original and which better fit the two environments. But before I can do anything, we have to better define what the Khajiit culture looks like.

Re: Jungle Temples
What my understanding is that the architecture of ancient Jerusalem was similer to that of Elsweyr's. History class, you actually helped for once.
Re: Jungle Temples
What? The temples? No. I don't think we could really use them. We'd need original stuff.
Grim, I agree on the ruin set idea. Would it be more immersive if there were overgrown versions and sandy versions of the exteriors? That way they don't look the same in Pellitine AND Anequina. Of course, Bethesda didn't do that...there are two arguments here. Immersion, or vanilla Morrowind.

Re: Jungle Temples
you're talking to the guy who's made a bunch of unique tileset mods for various towns. Multiple versions YES!!!
