A few weeks back me and Ryu exchanged a few PM's related to me hosting the Outreach project for you guys.

I could have a site up tonight for you guys but first I'd like to hear all your opinions, thoughts and such.

First of all I'll just put my points across.
The more posts you pile up on these forums, the more you will lose when it eventually goes down.
A new forum would allow you to backup your database in the unlikely event you would need to up sticks and move the site to a new host. Currently, you would have to copy and paste everything from this forum. So the sooner you get a real forum the better.
It would also be in close contact with other province mods. I am currently hosting P:C, High Rock 427 and soon New Argon.

So, what do you guys think?

I hope to see the rest of us in this thread very soon. I made a Global Announcement to ensure they are directed to this thread.

I don't have a problem with the move. But I'd say give it a breather space till P.C.'s forum is finished and properly sorted So there isn't too much on SGMonkeys plate all at once. Another week and all the bugs should be ironed out there, right SGM?

Of course P.C had way more to move...

I wouldnt be in charge of moving posts. I would simply set up the forum (half hour to an hours work)

Then one of you, as a moderator can go and copy all the posts across by hand.

I think it sounds good. These forums seemed like a placeholder anyway, and the more professional this is, the better. Of course, copying and pasting everything will be a hassle, but I guess it'll be worth it.

Heh. That's just because i copied the layout from the Argon forum i set up recently.

You have to make a new account I believe. I don't think that can be transferred.

Everything is set up. Just create an account and get posting.

Cool! It'll give to Outreach a more "official province mod" feeling.

All new information will be able to be backed up too. Unlike on this forum where there is no access to the forums Database.

Just so you know. Encountered a rare phpbb bug. Since the site had very little info, i just rolled it back. This does mean that those of you that had signed up will have to resign up. But its no biggie.

As soon as an admin signs up, he/she can assign people to groups and whatnot.

Anyway, have fun using the site! If you have any issues with it, let me know on the new site itself.
